--Tells me a storms coming...
The light shone through the tree branches, shining brightly on the mare that dozed below it. A sharp bark reached her ears, and she flicked them towards the sound.
Get up. Came a sharp hiss. She let her eyes flutter open, and as her eyes grew accostumed to the light she realized a furry muzzle was close to her's. She lifted her head, throwing a snarl at Axisha.
Move wolf. The black mare spat at her. She snorted and finally took the time to realize that what surrounded her was not at all familiar. She gazed up at the oak, realizing it was smaller than she remembered.
Axisha... She let her voice trail off. She tore her eyes from the giant river in front of her to gaze back at the silver-black wolf. She saw the vixen was slowly nodding her head, shock in her eyes. The mare turned back to gaze out over the open grass on the opposite side of the river. She could see rubble by the river, probably from a bridge that had felled years ago.
This isn't what I remember. The words were whispered, but Axisha knew Storm had heard her, because she saw the mare flick her ears. She moved up beside the mare. Maybe if we walk around we'll see something, or someone. Axisha said, nudging the mare's hindleg. She moved forward at a canter, the horse beside her.
Looking around made it worse. It made them see that it wasn't the same park they were in. It was too different. Way too different. At one point Axisha saw tears streaming from Storm's eyes, and felt her own come up to fill her lids and overflow down her muzzle.
This isn't working! Storm's frustrated snarl echoed eerily out in the silent park. She saw Axisha stop and nod her head. The mare had had enough. She reared up, letting out a shrill scream. She called out for anyone near to her, anyone who was lost too.
Axisha heard the desperation in Storm's scream, and threw back her head to let a harmonized howl join in with the mare's scream.
